Two guys you've been hearing me talking about for a minute hook up to make a dope song. Again, I love collaborations like this because it has two cats from different places doing their mutual "thing" on a track and not trying to cater to each others "market." As for the song itself, it will put you in the mind of some vintage Bone Thugs N' Harmony, which is never a bad thing. Its the first leak from Gibb's upcoming mixtape with DJ Skee, midwestgangstaboxframecadillacmuzik.

Mistah F.A.B. - "Hit Me On Twitter" video

Ain't gonna lie, I kept my feelings to myself about this song when it first came out. Like somebody momma said, "if you don't have anything nice to say, keep it to yourself." But, this video has changed my views on this song, which is what a video is supposed to do, make the song better. Its a fun, light-hearted video that really connects to the words, very well put together. And I'm not just saying that because a tweet convo between me and @kuhvet pops up at the bottom of the screen at the 0:13 mark either. Word on the street is that a remix with Fabolous and Snoop Dogg are in the works...so it looks like the homie Fab has a winner with this one.

Young Dro Speaks...

We have another Young Dro sighting. Here he talks about everything from leaving his dead Maserati off Bankhead to his new mixtape R.I.P. He also shows what appears to be the cover art for his upcoming album P.O.L.O. (Players Only Live Once) and guess what, it actually looks like a Polo ad.

Pill Featured in New York Times

More Grind Time news today. The homie Pill was mentioned in the New York Times this past Sunday. This is a really good look for dude. He has upgraded from making the trap go ham...to fine roasted quail. Haha. Anyways read the article written by Jon Caramanica after the jump and peep the actual clipping as well. Shout out to Zach Wolfe on the photo and big up to Dax on the artwork in the background.

The video for “Trap Goin’ Ham,” by the sharp young rapper Pill, crackles with a refreshing and sometimes astonishing naturalism. Filmed in the Fourth Ward in Atlanta, teeming with substance-addled folks acting erratically, it’s the sort of document that was once de rigueur in hip-hop and now feels appealingly anachronistic.

“It’s goin’ ham sandwich/Sausage baloney meat,” Pill raps, running with the extended food imagery. (“Ham” means crazy.) “We got them yams, dammit/So pull up on the street.” With nervous synths echoing Young Jeezy’s “Trap or Die” and a yelping sample from “Drop” by the Pharcyde cycling throughout, “Trap Goin’ Ham” was one of the standout tracks on Pill’s mixtape “4180: The Prescription,” released in January with DJ Burn One. (The follow-up, “4075: The Refill,” is expected next month.)

Pill is a crisply enunciative rapper, and an unremittingly positive one too, an attitude that helps in an environment so dire: a behind-the-scenes account of the video shoot, available at the blog mauricegarland.com, details all the too-real moments left on the cutting room floor.

Here it is my friends. The cover art for Killer Mike's Underground Atlanta compilation set to drop on September 1st. I forget what the art method is called, but they used that process where they take a bunch of other pictures to build one big one. Dope. It actually fits the direction of the compilation because it pretty much covers most of the corners and bases of whats going on down here right now from B.o.B to Travis Porter to GripPlyaz.

Goodie Mob Reunion Show: September 19th @ Masquerade Park

Here it is, the first visual from what is about to be the show of the year, hands down. The show will will be at the Masquerade Park and there couldn't be a better venue. Its an outside park that holds 3,000-4,000 people. I was just there tonight for the Snoop Dogg/Slightly Stoopid show and man...it reminds me of the old Birthday Bash concerts at Lakewood.
